The reason I picked How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World was mostly because of the movie poster. The first thing that I noticed about this poster was the fact that it had a Symmetrical Balance to it. It shows Hiccup in the center of the poster with Toothless and the light fury on the sides. Toothless and Light Fury are similar in size, which gives them that stable and organized look. This balance helps draw attention to the main character and creates a strong focal point.

This movie has a great example of Character Contrast. If you look at Toothless and the Light Fury, they both appear to be opposites of one another. Toothless is dark with piercing green eyes, while the Light Fury is bright white and has crystal blue eyes. They also have a neutral background, which helps them stand out, bringing attention to them. Their differences help make the characters pop in the entire movie.

This scene in particular is a great example of Color Contrast. They fly in the hidden world, which is underground, but everything around them starts to glow, which makes it such a pretty scene. The glowing orange and yellow of the Fireworm dragons really stand out against the dark blue and purple tones of the rest of the picture. This contrast between warm and cool colors really helps make that visual interest.

This final scene demonstrates Sound Contrast. It starts when Toothless doesn't recognize Hiccup after being apart for many years. It sounds emotional and uncertain, but it changes after Toothless recognizes him, with it being more uplifting and happier. The contrast between the two musical moods helps the viewers really get that emotional connection.

All of my pictures I got from Google, and the video I got was from YouTube. I chose How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World because it contains several different examples of contrast. One example is the character contrast with Toothless being different than the Light Fury. These examples show how contrast can be used through characters, colors, and sound to strengthen the message of the movie and make a personal connection with the characters.
